FABIAN RAHN
Race director, born in 1986 and thoroughbred runner
Born in the Black Forest, the Rureifel region has been home to Fabian and his family since 2017. A former professional triathlete and now a passionate trail runner, he fell in love with the fascinating landscape and challenging trails of the Rureifel during countless training runs. This led to the idea for the RET – Rureifel Trail, a sustainable sporting event by runners for runners, in 2023. Fabian founded the company “Rahn Endurance Sports” specifically for the RET.
“As a triathlete, my running training focused on other parameters, leaving no time for trails. But I'm very happy that I discovered trail running after 15 years as a triathlete. Trail running has grounded me and I can enjoy my athletic life even more now.”
Norbert Wortberg
Co-race director, born in 1967 and adventure runner
For Norbert, the Rureifel region has been his adopted home for over 10 years. Back in 1994, at the end of his competitive career as a middle- and long-distance runner, he participated in the Swiss Alpine Marathon. After various other ultra-sport adventures, Norbert rediscovered trail running through the RET 2023 and now supports Fabian in the organizing team.
Norbert is the managing director of “Natur bewegt Dich GmbH”, the operator of the NabeDi camp at Rursee.

RALF GRÄF
Born in 1972, endurance athlete
Born in the Ruhr area, found a home in the Rureifel region.
For 25 years now, the trails in this magnificent natural region have become Ralf's sports, play, adventure and recreation area.
As a former professional cyclist and mountain biker, running has always been a passion of his. A funny coincidence then led him to catch the trail running bug as well. He volunteered beforehand and later finished the race himself.
For RET 2025 over the 66km distance, Ralf is now also supported by Fabian and Norbert in the organizing team.
Living, working, playing sports and relaxing in a place where others go on vacation always fills me with great joy and gratitude.

And without the dedicated volunteers, this event would not be possible. By 2025, the crew already consisted of around 75 volunteers from a wide variety of backgrounds.
