Where are the start and finish lines?

At Nideggen Castle, Kirchstraße 10, 52385 Nideggen

Where can I park?

The road to the castle will be closed on April 17, 2027. Parking is available on Bahnhofstraße (P-Danzley), at the Zülpicher Tor parking lot, on Abendener Straße, at the school on Konrad-Adenauer-Straße, and along Rather Straße.

Is it possible to arrive by train?

Yes, gladly! From Düren, take the Rurtalbahn train to Nideggen-Brück. From there, walk up to the castle in 15 to 20 minutes along the running trail. There are also (a few) buses from Düren or Brück to the center of Nideggen.

Where can I book accommodation?

Are there any places to eat on site?

Yes, in the beer garden of Nideggen Castle. You can optionally pre-order a pasta dish (bookings are only possible during the registration process). Further information can be found in the event description.

Is there a program for children?

There will be a bouncy castle, a 1.5 km kids' run, and Nideggen Castle has a museum.

Where can participants be cheered on along the route?

The best places to stop are at the refreshment stations in Bergstein, Obermaubach, Schmidt (Schöne Aussicht), and Zerkall (Gut Kallerbend). Other good spots include the spa park in Heimbach (RET77 only), the beautiful village of Abenden (RET77 and RET44), and the castle hill in Bergstein (near the Bergstein refreshment station).

I would like to support the RET as a volunteer, where can I register?

We're delighted, and our team is growing all the time. We've also launched a program – "Starting Place in Exchange for Helpers." One person helps out, and the other person starts for free. Sounds good? Then get in touch at office@rureifel-trail.com .

Can I change or cancel my registration later?

Can I walk/hike with my dog?

No, unfortunately not. Several reasons speak against it.

What are the participant limits for RET?

Which timing system is used?

You will receive a reusable chip that is attached to your shoe and must be handed in again after crossing the finish line.

Is there a certificate?

Certificates will be awarded to the top 3 overall and the first-place finishers in each category during the awards ceremonies. Each participant can print their own certificate from the results portal.

Is there a medal?

Oh yes, prepare to be surprised! This medal awaits you at the finish line if you added it to your registration. The 2027 medal is made of metal.

Can I have my medal engraved?

Yes, we also offer this as an option during the registration process.
Those who decide at the last minute can also book this service on site. The engraving includes name, distance, and target time.

Is there a T-shirt?

We offer you a RET 2027 event shirt – you can add this during the registration process. The event shirt is limited – first come, first served.

Can bags be left at the curb?

There will be a designated area for storing bags. However, this area will not be constantly supervised. We accept no liability.

Are there showers?

Yes, there's a cool shower truck waiting for you in the market square.
