Terms of participation and race character

Routes and route markings
The elevation profiles and route descriptions will be published online. GPS files for all distances will be available for download with the race briefing.
It is strictly forbidden to cut the designated route. Leaving the paths and trails is prohibited (grounds for disqualification!). There is a risk of falling in some areas immediately off the marked route.
The routes will be marked with red arrows. Signs and barrier tape will also be in place at key points. The specific route markings will be explained in detail during the race briefing.
3
Race Briefing
The race briefing will be sent by email no later than April 11, 2027. It will contain all important and up-to-date information regarding the race. The race briefing is an integral part of the trail guide and must be read carefully by every participant.
4
Start number
Since the race number is non-transferable, you must present your ID card when collecting your race materials. The race number must be clearly visible on the front of your body throughout the entire race.
5
timing
A transponder chip attached to the shoe (in 2027, in some cases also integrated into the bib number) records the running time for each participant. If the chip is lost, the race management must be notified by telephone. The mobile phone number will be announced at the race briefing and is also printed on the bib number.
6
Autonomy of the participants
Participants may need to be able to navigate the route independently. We recommend using a GPS-enabled navigation device with the route pre-loaded.
Participants must independently ensure they have sufficient water and food with them at all times, even away from the refreshment stations.
After the start, participants may not accept any additional equipment (such as poles) from outside. Participants must also carry all their starting equipment to the finish line. Disposing of trash in the designated bins (and only there!) is, of course, permitted.
Personal food and drinks may only be served at the official refreshment stations.
Apart from cheering and emotional support, any other outside assistance during the race is prohibited! Exceptions apply, of course, in the event of accidents or emergencies!

- Gloves
- Cap
The mandatory equipment may be checked before and during the race.
Our recommendations and tips for all distances:
– Running backpack with personally tested provisions
– small change
– GPS watch/device with stored GPS track
– Poles (recommended only for RET44+ and RET77)
– In strong sunlight: wear a hat and sunscreen!
To avoid chafing and soreness, we recommend rubbing sensitive areas (thighs, armpits, chest) with greasy cream/Vaseline before starting.
9
Environment and nature conservation
We assume that you will move along the route in a considerate and mindful manner.
- Waste may only be disposed of at the food stations.
- Nature must not be intentionally damaged.
- Do not use shortcuts; do not stray from the paths.
10
Emergency medical care
In the start/finish area:
Your health is important to us. Our first aid crew is available 30 minutes before and up to approximately 30 minutes after the race.
During the race - medical emergency number:
Should anyone get into trouble, every participant is required to make an emergency call. The emergency number (provided in the race briefing and printed on the back of your race number) is located on the back of your race number. If the emergency number cannot be reached, the emergency number 112 must be contacted immediately. Every participant is required to provide first aid in case of emergency, even during the race. If you are concerned about your own race: The lost time can be credited back.
Each participant is obligated to follow the instructions of the first aid crew and all official RET course marshals, especially if they order a participant to withdraw from the race for health reasons. Failure to comply will result in immediate disqualification.
Any costs incurred for a rescue operation outside the services of the first aid crew will be borne by the participant.
11
Time penalties and disqualification
Each participant agrees to follow the trail guide. The instructions of the RET personnel must be followed.
For violations, RET personnel may issue time penalties of between 5 and 60 minutes or immediate disqualification. In this case, the entry fee will not be refunded.
12
Time limit and goal
The finish line closes at 10:10 PM for all distances.
"Cut-off" times for all distances:
VP Schmidt/Schöne Aussicht 2:00 PM
VP Bergstein 4:45 PM
VP Obermaubach 6:40 PM
VP Nideggen-Rath 8:10 PM
VP Gut Kallerbend 9:10 PM
However, each participant can still finish their run (outside of the scoring).
The organizer may, for example due to adverse weather conditions, change and/or shorten the route and the time limit before the start and during the race.
13
Finally...
The points listed here are certainly not exhaustive. They are based on experience from similar events. The race management reserves the right to make changes to these regulations up until immediately before the start.
…and lastly, so that these rules ideally become unnecessary, we ask all participants to show consideration, sportsmanship, and fairness throughout the entire event. With that in mind: Let the trails run!
