General Terms and Conditions
of the RET – Rureifel Trail and the RET – Rureifel Trail Hike 2026
§ 1 Application – Validity
(1) The organizer of the 3rd Rureifel Trail is Rahn Endurance Sports, represented by Fabian Rahn (office@rureifel-trail.com).
(2) The General Terms and Conditions, in the version valid at the time of registration, are part of the contract between the organizer and the participant. Verbal agreements have no legal validity.
§ 2 Conditions of Participation
(1) All persons who are sufficiently healthy and trained for the chosen distance are eligible to participate.
- Participants in RET11 and RET22 must be at least 16 years old by April 18, 2026.
- Please note: Special regulations apply to RET11. With written parental permission, children aged 12 to 15 may also participate in RET11.
- Participants in the RET Hike22 must be at least 14 years old by April 18, 2026.
- Participants in the RET44+ and RET77 must be at least 18 years old by April 18, 2026.
- Participants in the RET Hike44+ must be at least 16 years old by April 18, 2026.
- All children who are under 16 years old on the day of the competition are eligible to participate in the RET Kids.
(2) Participants bear full personal responsibility for being sufficiently healthy and trained for the chosen distance. Each participant must expressly familiarize themselves with the specific difficulties and risks, particularly the risk of injury and falls on some of the very difficult sections of the route, of the chosen distance and prepare and equip themselves accordingly.
(3) Upon registration, participants declare that they have read the Trail Guide for the 3rd Rureifel Trail in full and understand and accept all the points contained therein.
§ 3 Registration – Entry Fee
(1) Registration takes place online on the website www.rureifel-trail.com via the service provider Race-Result. After registration, the participant will receive a registration confirmation by e-mail. This makes the registration binding for both parties.
(2) The full entry fee is due immediately after registration and will be collected via SEPA direct debit.
(3) If the participant cancels or does not participate, the entry fee will not be refunded. The participant can (at their own risk) secure their registration with external (cancellation) insurance or
§ 4 Rebooking Option ("Sorglos Paket")
(1) The participant can make one rebooking from the following options until March 31, 2026:
a.) ... rebook to a shorter distance. In this case, the difference will not be refunded.
b.) ... rebook for a longer distance. In this case, the difference must be paid subsequently.
c.) ... transfer the starting place for the booked distance to another person.
d.) ... postpone participation in the booked distance for one year. The participant will receive a 50% discount code for their personal re-registration for RET2027 within the distance booked for RET2026.
(2) To rebook, the participant must send an e-mail to office@rureifel-trail.com by March 31, 2026, stating all registration details and the desired rebooking option.
§ 5Cancellation and Termination by the Organizer
(1) If the event is canceled or terminated by the organizer due to force majeure for which the organizer is not responsible, the participant is not entitled to a refund of the entry fee and is not entitled to compensation or damages for other expenses already incurred in connection with the event.
(2) Reasons for cancellation and termination due to force majeure include, for example, a pandemic, strike, official withdrawal of approval, threats of assassination, acts of sabotage, exceptional weather conditions, or other catastrophic events. This list is therefore not exhaustive.
§ 6 Exclusion from the event - Disqualification
(1) The organizer reserves the right to exclude a participant from the event or not to include them in the ranking (disqualification).
(2) Reasons for exclusion/disqualification are:
a.) The participant provides false information during registration.
b.) The participant is subject to a competition ban by a sports association (e.g., due to doping).
c.) The participant has significantly violated the race regulations.
(3) In the event of exclusion or disqualification, the participant is not entitled to a refund of the entry fee.
§ 7 Liability
(1) The organizer is not liable for property damage or financial loss caused by negligence on the part of the organizer.
(2) In the event of negligent conduct, the organizer is only liable for personal injury caused by negligent conduct up to the limit of the liability insurance policy taken out by the organizer.
(3) The aforementioned limitations of liability also apply to the liability of the organizer's vicarious agents or employees, as well as to the personal liability of employees, representatives, vicarious agents, and third parties whom the organizer uses in connection with the conduct of the event or with whom it is contractually bound for this purpose.
(4) The organizer assumes no liability for lost or damaged items belonging to participants, even if they were handed over to the organizer by the participant for free storage during the race.
(5) The participant is liable for damages caused to the organizer or third parties (e.g., spectators, municipalities, other participants, road users, or private landowners) by the participant and which can be attributed to the participant.
§ 8 Insurance
By registering, the organizer does not take out any accident or liability insurance for the participant. The participant is responsible for his or her own individual insurance coverage.
§ 9 Data Collection and Use
(1) By registering, the participant declares that they agree that the data provided in the registration for timing, placement, and results may be recorded and shared with third parties and for publication on the Internet.
(2) The personal data provided by the participant during registration will be stored and processed only for the purposes of organizing and managing the event. This applies in particular to the data necessary for payment processing (§ 28 of the Federal Data Protection Act). By registering, the participant consents to the storage of the data for this purpose.
(3) The participant agrees that the photos, film recordings, and interviews taken in connection with their participation in the event may be distributed and published on radio, television, in print media, books, social media, the Internet, etc., without claim to compensation. Furthermore, the participant agrees to the sharing of their personal data for the purpose of sending photos produced by a company commissioned by the organizer. However, the participant does not hereby declare that they wish to purchase such a photo.
(4) The participant agrees to the publication of their name, year of birth, team name, start number, and results in all event-related print media (participant list, results list, etc.) and in all digital media.
(5) The participant may object to the disclosure and publication of their personal data to the organizer in writing or by e-mail.
§ 10 Limitation Period
Claims of the participant against the organizer expire one year after the end of the event.
§ 11 Invalidity of Individual Provisions
Should one or more provisions of these terms and conditions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected. The parties agree that the invalid provision must be replaced by an agreement that corresponds in content and purpose to the invalid contractual provision.
§ 12 Place of Jurisdiction
The place of jurisdiction for disputes arising from the concluded contract is Düren. The contractual relationship between the organizer and the participant shall be governed exclusively by German law.
